Paperweights

These designs are no longer on general release but we can still make one of these kits for you. Because we don’t carry stock there will be a delay before back catalogue items are dispatched. As a guide, please allow two weeks.

These designs are intended to be decorative and practical. The semi-circular base can hold a heavy substance, thus making a useful paperweight. The paperweight kits do not contain any ballast, but the instructions explain how to add it at the construction stage. A bag of gravel, bought from an aquarium centre, was used to make the original paperweights.

A Gardener's World Paperweight

A tiny cottage sits above a well kept flower garden, where stems of blue delphiniums bloom against a white picket fence and a path winds across the green lawn to the front door.

The Gardener's World Paperweight is 8.5 cms high and 8 cms wide. The kit contains 18 and 14-count aida, stranded cotton, felt, wadding, plastic canvas, needle, charts and full instructions - but no ballast.
