These pieces are designed to look realistic. Sizes and shapes differ, but all are worked on 18-count aida for the walls, 14 or 18-count coloured aida for the roofs and 14-count coloured aida for the bases. Together they make a collectable group, or stitch one on its own as a gift for someone special. The kits contain 14 and 18-count aida, stranded cotton, felt, plastic canvas, needle, chart and full instructions.
Smugglers RestHouses like this may often be seen along the coast of Kent and Sussex. These areas have a history of smuggling and some ancient houses have secret areas in them for hiding people or smuggled goods. The half timbering is a different pattern to that on the Castle Inn, which resembles patterns found on the Welsh borders, and different styles are found in different areas of England. This house is near the sea so you will find a couple of seagulls on it's walls.
